PROVENCE SUN N°5 (March-April 2011)
Working within an international team is so interesting. Everything relies on communication and making sure we all understand the same things using the same words. But this is not always the case and it is what Provence Sun is all about. Angela, our new editor, has added another dynamic to the Provence team.

When I started working at Provence Sun at the beginning of November I had no idea what great fun and what fascinating people I would come across. Of course I knew that Provence is a wealth of culture, history and beauty but I didn’t realise just how many English speakers were dotted around across the region. I have lived in France for over 15 years and would like to think myself fairly well integrated into the French way of life. But I do, like many others, enjoy the comfort of reverting back to my native tongue from time to time and swapping stories with people who have lived a similar experience. And that is what Provence Sun is all about, its a means of sharing information, linking up with each other and learning about our region and its people.
This issue is full of the freshness and excitement of spring. We explore the mysteries of the spring at Fontaine de Vaucluse, we’ve learnt about the Easter traditions of the region, we’ve got some top tips on Mediterranean gardens and I am hoping to sound more professional in French after having read the advice on our language page!
At Provence Sun we aim to make your magazine full of useful and interesting articles which mirror the richness of life in Provence so we are always on the lookout for an interesting story or person. If you think you have a story to share or some advice to give we’d love to hear from you.
Happy Reading!
