LANGUEDOC & PROVENCE SUN

6 years have passed since we started the magazine. Thank you all for making it happen. Thank you, too, for all the compliments we receive on a regular basis, they really help us go forward. So, please let us know what you think; it’s so good to get feedback and without criticism we wouldn’t improve. I would like to thank all our advertisers, without whom we would not be here. Don’t hesitate to use them and call them, quoting us. Most of them have become our friends and we can really trust them.

During these six years we have interviewed some fantastic people; we’ve had a number of ‘stagiaires’ who have done a great job. Some of them have even changed their studies because they discovered a real passion for what they were done during their internship. We are always invited to amazing places and I must admit I will never forget the visit to the European Commission, the food tasting at the Abbaye de Valmagne, a visit for journalists to London, the Radiohead concert and many more. Lots of these events are thanks to the Club de la Presse in the Gard, as Languedoc Sun makes up part of the team. We need to have our say; we want to be the voice of the anglophone community so please, express yourselves. Whether you love it or hate it, share it with us.

When we get together for our editorial meeting, everybody on the team presents subjects or people they want to talk about. I’ve put myself in charge of the recipes, and this issue they are so me!! Three quick and easy light recipes and one for the ‘gourmands’. Before publishing them, I always cook them so I can adjust the quantities. Recently, I met a friend while doing my shopping for the ingredients; she had a good laugh when I added the Galette des Rois at the end of my ‘light’ menu...

Laura has covered most articles alongside Anna who writes about Monoblet, Angela on how to write a letter in French, Colin on wine, Mike on Oysters, Paul about becoming a film maker, Bob about the British Screen Festival, Irene on de Gaulle, Angela Murrills about life in the Languedoc, Peter about taxation, Nicolas on inheritance, Pascal about the Béziers airport... Also, in this issue we have the great honour to include Annie Livesey, cartoonist, to our list. Thank you for illustrating some of our pages. Once we’ve finished the content, David our co-editor steps in to do the final corrections. I would like to give him a very special thank you for all his hard work.
